Suzuki OE panniers - a question.
« on: March 24, 2017, 21:43:02 »
Hi, my Glee has the standard plastic panniers and frames and when riding in Scotland last year I noticed their bulk everyday.
This year we are spending most of the week riding out from one hotel so plan to leave the panniers there and just use my top box.
In this case is it advisable to remove the pannier frames as well or can the bike be ridden with them fitted but not used?

I would just remove the boxes. When I didn't need the boxes, I rode with the frames on and never had any problems.
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can.

You won't even know the frames are there. Loads of us ride with frames permanently on, just clipping the cases on when needed.

I've got Shad panniers and leave the rails on all the time. Just pop the panniers on when needed.
