Thank You Hondaman....you've just put two and two together on the screw/bolt. When I got the bike back one of the existing screen bolts was missing from the screen and was in the box of mystery bits. I was puzzled why they'd only take out the one. But I bet they had the full screen off and couldn't get that one back in so they tried a new one hence the fact it was in the box.  :lala:

It was meant to be ridiculous, (just in case yours wasn't).

Request for more pics please:

One of the screws/bolts around the LCD. I can't see if the ones at the very top of the push fit black plastic jobbies or hex bolts.

Also: the ones on the LCD display housing low down. I think they are grey hex bolts.

Also see pics anyone know where these go? what's been off is the display housing an side panels. I've had the side panels off before so know what goes where (I hope).

Almost there....

PS remember I didn't take this bit apart hence the confusion.

Top ones look like they come from the side 'vents' near the radiator (inside panels there should be 3 on each one,  and the top one on the clutch side should have a bracket for the loom).

The bottom ones look like they go into the tank, either at the rear to hold the side panels on,  or on the sides at the very bottom of the tank to hold the front side shroud to the tank...

I'll go get photos in a moment.

Unfinished coarse thread screws connect plastic to plastic in hidden areas. The connection between the two side panels under the seat or plastic pieces in the fairing are possibilities. Silver colored bolts connect painted plastic to metal in visible areas. You should be able to see empty bolt holes in a plastic part out in the open without looking under anything.

Hope these help. The last one, behind that panel is another bolt to hold the black plastic to the tank. That might be your missing bolts?

Superb. The pics will help. My wife is losing patience! The screws are not from the 3 panel near the rad.

Oh. Well as per GW's advice, plastic to plastic... good luck finding it.

Sympathise with the wife issue. Mine pushed me to getting it fixed by the dealer as it's take ages but it cost me a small fortune for soldering 1 broken wire...

Hondaman, lighten up FFS

I am.
I felt GWs response to my post about crap Suzuki electrics warranted a response.

Last and hopefully final update....

The bike is back together and working. Test ride tomorrow.

The only issue to note is that the clock now refuses to reset to MPH. Other than a fault adjuster button or a issue with the connection, is there any other reason that might be that I'm not aware of??? Its like I'm being tested! Procedure is ignition on, cycle to odometer and then hold down Adjust button for 2 seconds.

FFS...getting bored of this now.  ###

Does the adjust button change anything else, e.g. can you set the clocks, reset the trip etc. If so unlikely to be issue with the button. I think you may need to hold it down longer than 2 seconds, but from memory the procedure sounds about right. Good luck with the test ride. Hopefully it'll make all this hassle worthwhile  :thumb:

Test done. All worked other than the clock issue which on inspection involving dismantling it, it appears some effing spanner monkey didn't put it back together properly. On the other side of the adjust button is a plastic spindle in a plastic tube. When  the button is pressed it contacts a switch on the circuit board.  Of course, it was too much trouble to put this in when reassembling. Its impossible for it to just fall out.  £72 per hour......enough said.
