Repair stolen V-Strom
« on: February 23, 2017, 13:17:50 »
August 28, 2016 my V-Strom was stolen in Wapping, London. Last Tuesday, 6 months later, the London Metropolitan Police  :bow-blue: found the bike   :lala:
This is unbelievable. My girl is back  :sunny:

But I need to repair the electric wiring harness, steering stem upper bracket and a few more cosmetic things. Bike is at home but I know nothing in London.

Where do you suggest to bring the bike for repair?  With quality service and honest prices?
Thanks.

Forgot to mention, I need to bring the bike to repair next Saturday February 25

Did you not get an insurance payout when it was stolen?

The bike is portuguese and I bought it cash, not renting or leasing. In Portugal renting or leasing are the only chance for you to have a full coverage insurance included. Not in my case. And my Strom is 10 years old, insurance cost would be the bike value

Yes, when you register a vehicle in any EU country, you must insure it for third party liability. This compulsory insurance is valid in all other EU countries.
It covers you if you have an accident causing damage to property or injury to anyone other than the driver.

We won't be an EU country for much longer  :lala:

That said, I'm curious, do you not have the option for 'Third Party, Fire & Theft? That is a pretty basic cover here.
