Accessories - remove or not before selling?
« on: February 18, 2017, 19:27:43 »
Hi folks,

I know the usual line is you'll get more for them separately but the Wee strikes me as a bike that might be better sold with them on - lowered pegs, centrestand, spots, Givi topbox w/brake lights, heated grips Madstad, Givi airflow etc etc. I'm in a quandary over price too - v low miles 11k, immaculate 07 X model in red (bashplate, handguards, engine bars as standard).  Where to advertise and what to ask would be good news! I really don't fancy ebay.

I've got a month or so to prep it ready to sell (and whilst I wait to discover if my new wheels are as excellent as they appear to be) so I could remove everything back to bog standard if that's a better move. I'd appreciate some advice :)

Cheers,

Simon

Like most things in life, the more work you do, the more money you make. It's typical to be able to sell a bike without accessories for more than an accessorised bike minus what you can get for the accessories. Most buyers would choose different accessories than you would for their bike.
Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. 2012 DL650A outlasted me.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 (K2-L2) DL1000s. Veek=2014+ (L4+) DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 (K4-L1) DL650s. Glee = 2012+ (L2+) DL650s

I appreciated the value of the accessories on all my bikes, as long as the bike isn't lessened by having them.
In fact I wouldn't have bought half of the ones on my Wee or SD... but I'm glad they have been put on there by the PO's.
