Hi, I have had my 650  Vstrom 10 months now and just completed 6k the bike has done 23k and I have used 1 litre of semi synthetic oil, is this acceptable for a over 6k???

That doesn't sound right at all. Do you park it in the same place each day, would you know if you had an oil leak?

That doesn't sound right at all. My old wee with 50 odd on the clock didn't burn any noticeable amount, me glee is the same.

As FR says is it leaking? Is there noticeable blue smoke from the exhaust?

The only time that much oil use is normally found is if the bike practically lives at 75mph or greater. High speeds seem to create a low pressure area in the air box that draws oil vapor through the crankcase vent tubes.
Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. 2012 DL650A outlasted me.
