Hello All,

The dealer let me know about the recall on 22nd so no time to sort but I've got a trip planned that will be around 250 miles.

I've got a voltmeter fitted and its showing 9.5v with heated jacket and grips on and 10.1v with em off.

Anyone know the answer if riding this distance will kill the battery off??? Dealer hadn't got  anyone in service dept to answer.

Thanks

Those figures sound very low. Does the bike still start?

The battery went flat a few weeks ago after a series of shortish trips. I thought it may have been the tracker but then the recall came. After the flat battery I've kept it on an Optimate charger so it's not gone flat. I have a nasty feeling a long trip will kill it off though but I'm not technical enough to know.

Thanks

Mick

Your figures will flatten the battery.
With heated grips, Sat Nav & heated jacket I'm getting 13.7/.8v at anything above ~2k revs.

I wouldn't undertake the trip until sorted.

I've got a 2014 AL4 that needs to go in for the stator replacement. FWIW I recently rode down to my owd lasses, ~220 return trip with a Keis heated jacket on 'low' and Oxford grips on 'low' all the way there and back with no problems.
Not sure I'd have done it if I'd known about the recall beforehand.

It's a doddle if your charging system is working like JonJo's apparently is. It appears MickyV 's is not working.
