What would you recommend for a rectifier ?

I would recommend switching to a Shindengen series rectifier like the SH775 or its overkill more expensive cousin, the SH847. Either will improve stator life. The connectors are different so this would be a perfect time for the change. The 775 gets hot so mounting it in the air stream would be a good idea. Don't get an ebay copy as copies are usually shunt types that are harder on the stator. http://www.vstrom.info/Smf/index.php/topic,20426.0.html
Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. 2012 DL650A outlasted me.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 (K2-L2) DL1000s. Veek=2014+ (L4+) DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 (K4-L1) DL650s. Glee = 2012+ (L2+) DL650s
