Oil Cooler Hoses 2006 DL650
« on: October 27, 2016, 09:33:50 »
My oil cooler hoses are getting very corroded.
Has anyone found a place that will make some up?
Don't fancy paying Suzuki prices.

Thanks
Sam

hi
I would imagine the rubber pipes are OK, as you did not say you had a leak. It depends how handy you are, if it was me, I would remove them (after draining oil of course) and refurb the end metal bits, silver or black paint after removing corrosion, then re install again. You could try and do them whilst still on the bike, but would be difficult to get all the corrosion off.
Because I am a tight old git, if its working, why replace when you can tidy things up.
Failing that, somewhere that makes rubber hydro pipes, the sort used on tractors or diggers may be able to make up a set, but they would need the old ones as a patten, and if you have to take them off anyway, back to top of reply

I removed the oil cooler and hoses complete then cleaned up and painted the rusty bits with hammerite smooth black. Looks loads better now.

Sent using carrier pigeon...

Old enough to know better, but still too young to care...

Thanks Gents,

They are badly corroded and I was thinking of replacing them.
I have rust cured them and painted etc but I think its time to replace.
So really asking if anyone has had any made up from where? oh and indeed how much.

Thanks
Sam
