West Yorkshire Transport Consultations
« on: August 26, 2016, 10:01:29 »
All you folks from West Yorkshire might be interested in these consultations over transport improvements. The Councils tend to omit motorcyclists from their transport plans so you may wish to raise that here e.g. access to bus lanes, improved road layouts, signage for motorists to check their mirrors etc

http://www.westyorks-ca.gov.uk/transport-strategy/

http://www.leeds.gov.uk/residents/Pages/Leeds-transport-conversations.aspx

The latter ends 20 Sept 16.

Done.

Waste of time of course. If you aren't taking your Chinese bicycle on the free bus to the inclusivity and diversity centre you can forget it.  A baby whale dies every time you start your capitalist personal transport you know.

 lol

I've been badgering the council for 10 years to improve motorcycling in Leeds and so far nothing, although they told me yesterday they might trial allowing motorcyclists to use bus lanes in Wakefield...

It's interesting that cyclists make up 1% of traffic in West Yorkshire and get c. £58million spent on daft ideas like the cycle superhighway  (which keen cyclists tell me they won't use),  whereas motorcyclists who also make up 1% of traffic get £0 spent on them  :dl_smiley_banghead:

Cycling... easy. Paint a white line a foot away from the kerb, call it a "sustainable transport network" and liberate huge wodge of taxpayers dosh for council to fritter away. Motorcycles, thorny proposition. Loud, dangerous, antisocial, how to deal with marauding leather-clad hordes?
