Givi S310 lights on a Vstrom k9
« on: July 24, 2016, 13:08:47 »
Hi
Fitted my Givi lights yesterday but wondered if anyone can confirm I'm going to connect these correctly.
I've mounted them and routed the wiring loom. The loom has a relay and a switch for handle bars.
I have connected the wires from the relay to the battery (black and red )

Left with a green wire from one end of switch which is fused.

Looked on my rear lights and I have a switched live for rear lights.

Is this the best place to connect or can anyone tell me of a more suitable place.

Bit unsure with electrics

I want the lights to be off when ignition is off.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Gary

Get one of these & you can put 2 more switched 'goodies' on the bike.....................................

Hi
Thanks for getting back.
Seems a good idea. How will that work. I want the lights not to come on when ignition is off.
If I connect that directly to battery then the switch for light will be live when ignition is off if I'm thinking correctly.
Work with teenagers and worried they might turn lights on and flatten battery while bike I'd in car park.
Regards
Gary

The box in that link is dead when the ignition is off, so the light cannot be switched on.
