Now we all know that discussing Politics on this site is frowned upon, that is for good reason. So, I won't, I'll just talk about my Number Plates.

One of the first jobs I do when buying a new vehicle is change the Number Plates to get rid of those Euro stars, I've always done it and would have continued if the Brexit vote hadn't gone the right way it did.

I took some pleasure today in covering the Euro stars on trhe latest vehicle with some cheapie stickers. Euro Flag banished, Union Flag flying, and I saved the cost of new Number Plates  :lala:

I would go further and have a St Georges flag rather than the union flag, but I understand why you wouldn't do that living in Wales ;)

Fitted my shiny new europlate a mere few weeks ago. ( couldn't find a good flat area for a GB sticker )

Nowhere at all. But I'm British, not European Unionish. We have had these passports imposed on us and I naturally kick against things imposed on me where I have no influence or say so.

The big black one is issued by a nuclear power with mad Boris in charge of diplomacy. The little red one is by a comittee who'd take twenty years to agree the wording and grade of recycled paper used to issue a slightly less than grovelling letter condemning incarceration and torture in general but not yours in particular.

Back almost OT, I once sent three company cars back for having Euro plates. I asked for plain on the order as company policy was not to have political messages displayed. They weren't surprised, which proves how useless these lease companies are because I'd bet no one would complain about plain.

I specifically asked for Euro plates when I got the Glee... (and I'm far too tight to pay to change them - even a sticker!) Our new car (picked up on Monday) came with a plain front plate but a Euro rear plate  :crazy: maybe Ford are acclimatising?

Some of us are getting removed from the European Union against our wishes. Can't please all the people all the time.

Good point. But, well worth the freedom. (Until I'm stuck in a queue that is.) Having said that, I bet the Eurocrats will still want our £££££££s spent in EurolandUtopia so will assist our travel plans. If not, I'll go to the Yorkshire Moors, Wales, Scotland, Cumbria, Cornwall, ..............

Mine clearly states, along with the Royal coat of arms, that I'm British. Inside, next to my photo, it says "British Citizen" and the top of the page also says United Kingdom..etc..


I'm with Bigpie. And all of this is why bollotix is banned on here. Xenophobia masquerading as patriotism - no, thanks.


Anyway, yes the new plate looks smart -  will you still need a "GB" sticker if you go abroad? Shouldn't have to, if the euro thing was good enough, but it may be worth a check.

I'm far from Xeno - whatsit. Just come back from two weeks in Germany and France. Have pals in Holland, Ireland, Scotland, France, Spain Germany......I just don't want European Union plastered all over my life.
