Setting rear sag - way too soft?
« on: June 28, 2016, 19:00:43 »
Is the standard rear shock only suitable for light weight riders? (2007 wee ABS)

Just checked mine and it was very soft so wound the preload right up but still too soft - see diagram I've drawn to help visualise it.

499 mm was with bike on centrestand - suspension fully extended.
Light blue line shows the full travel limit of the suspension.
Dark blue & Red lines show the normal limits for 25% to 35% travel (which is the region it should be in with me on it).
Green is where it actually is with me on her.

By the looks of it I've almost used up all of the travel. :GRR: and that is before I even put my travel luggage on.

So what now - new spring I guess, or am I doing the measurements wrong?
