Am I being daft...?
« on: June 22, 2016, 20:53:13 »
To anyone who knows me the answer is perhaps self evident, but in this case it is a serious question. My brother is parting company with his vee and is part-exchanging it for another German brand of motorbike...he has offered me a straight swap for my wee and he will part-exchange that instead. So now I'm in mental turmoil of pro's and con's. Should I swap and be lured by the extra grunt and subsequent thirst of the 1000cc behemoth or do I stick to the trusty, smooth and economical 650cc I know and love...?

Choices choices...

Keep the 650.

We all know that Vee has somersaulted into a field. It's crash damaged :)

To Remain with the Wee or Leave it for a Vee
Leave or Remain
Is this the referendum ???? :dl_hyperhysteria:
I found the Vee just a tad "big and heavy" for my decrepit frame  :old: but as you're one of the few people who make the Vee look small and manageable maybe the Vee is the one .
If you are not commuting it why worry about the slightly higher consumption.
On the other hand in this speed camera ridden country you may find the steed a little hard to hold back. :auto-dirtbike:

In the end it's down to condition and face value.

This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can.

I've had my Vee now for over 3 years and love it but I have it for a reason. Two up touring fully loaded with camping gear , I don't think a wee could cope with that .
The wee is more nimble and economical but still similar in size and if I was single it would be my first choice out of the two .  :stirpot:.

Nuff said. :lala:

Have ridden a Vee and the engine is stonking, but the Wee has a peach of an engine that loves to be reved and carries it's weight better in the corners.

If I had the choice again I'd go for a wee. The vee would be my choice is I was doing mainly 2up touring as the engine would be a little more relaxed, that's why I bought the Varadero... she promptly got a bigger bike than me and doesn't go pillion.

Nice one Brockett! This is the referendum that really matters!!

I've used my wee two up before and it coped admirably. I'm also a lot lighter now than I was back then...

What can the Vee do that the wee can't?

How often would you do those things?
Why did you buy a wee, and what does it do for you that a vee couldn't?

Think it through very carefully then.....
F**k it, go and buy a Veek!!
That's what you were going to do, anyway.

 lol

My first thought when I saw the title was probably...

I'd suggest go ride both back to back down your favourite road/route and see which one you prefer.

Try it for a full day on Saturday and then do what Rusty said.

The referendum result is in. Unlike the rest of the country I have voted to remain.

Thanks for your views on this. On balance 650cc is fine for me, so I will stick with it forever.

Hmmm...nice Veek...

The ban on Politics discussions does not cover the correct choice of a 650 over and above a 1000  :)
