Vibration at 3-4k
« on: June 06, 2016, 21:57:03 »
As per title, under load there is a noticeable vibration through the pegs/bars/whole bike as the revs pass through 3 and 4k on the tach....

A quick search of the forum points towards "chudder" as the culprit, highly plausible as the bike has covered 32k, I haven't yet tried the clutch feathering test to confirm but will tomorrow on my commute.

So imagine my dismay while browsing the previous owners documentation I find that the clutch basket was replaced at 18k and appears to be goosed once more ????

The pages and pages of discussion on the subject is somewhat confusing, is there a permanent fix out there?

And more importantly is there a financially viable way of me being able to make some modifications myself?

"replaced clutch basket" is not necessarily the same as a proper fix by Sharealike.

Do you know if it was fixed or just a new one was put in?

The notes just state "clutch basket replaced"

So I'm assuming that is all that happened?

Then the owner probably swapped one poor design for a new version of the same thing.

Have a look HERE for a permanent fix.

Now that's what my Vee did, I didn't realise it wasn't supposed to be like it so drove around the problem by feathering the clutch until I sent it to Sharealike, what a transformation! Easily the best mod for a Vee
