The workshop manual does not have the number of teeth but I counted them on a couple of the photographs and it shows as 41 teeth. Online I found it also as 41 teeth.
OEM Gear Ratio - 17T Front Sprocket / 41T Rear Sprocket OEM Chain - 525 Pitch / 116 Links
but on a chain and sprocket supplier site it is shown as 42 teeth with the US as 41 and the length of the chain is also shown slightly different with 525 / 112 links.
I was thinking of increasing a tooth on the rear sprocket and drop a tooth on the front just to give it a little more oomph as I am not bothered about the top speed since I never go over
100 70 mph anyway
and the slight increase in revs is negligible but it will give even a smoother low gear town riding.
SO, the question is: Is the rear in UK and Europe 41 or 42 teeth?
