It's just behind the fleck of dust in the middle of the picture. It's pretty much the size of a decent phone.

I think the green compliments the wire from the left turn contact in the switchgear...

What exactly were you expecting for £15???

Another go at balancing the Bulldog's carbs. This time with the restriction dampers in place. The dampers are made from a small bore 4cm plastic tube cut in half. I then had to cut 6cm off the main tubes and insert the 2cm damper and then attach the tube that had been cut off.  The main tubes with damper inserts are plugged onto the feed to the vacuum cock petrol tap and the other tube to the AIS control. However to get the petrol tap to work I had to start the engine and then apply a clip to clamp the  vacuum hose/petrol cock in order to trap the vacuum so that when I connected the carbtune the fuel  would still feed the carbs.  I started by re-fitting the OE exhaust as these contain the catalytic converters which create a bit of back pressure that the loud cans I had recently fitted do not. Although the gauge looked spot on at the time I see by looking at the video that it is still a tad out of balance.
However it runs much better and I was able to take it for it's MOT which expired on 4th June  :GRR:

My first trackday on the KTM .

It was rather unusual as is was on RAF Waddington which is still operational. I had an invite from my Son in Law who has just finished working for BAE, we had to be "sponsored" by a serving member of the MOD.

It was really well organised and quite fast.

I saw 153 mph on the speedo and 148 as a fastest speed registered on the Sat Nav.

Son in Law's brother managed 162 verified on a Tuono 1100 and another of our party blew us away with 185 on a GSXR 750.

Into a 15mph head wind.

The only slight issue I had was trying to get it to turn in at the end of the back straight, it was the fastest corner I have ever taken. On the last session we were tipping in a at 80 after knocking it down to 4th and carried that on the whole sweeper until the next short straight.

Considering the rain we've had this week we only had a couple of showers, non of which really slowed things down. Then I had a biblical downpour all the way home.

This wasn't today but a similar circuit layout.

To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

I took the V50 out for a quick run to see how close my calculations on speed were compared to the GPS doodah: turns out I was pretty much spot on, which at least confirms that the rev counter is reading right, even if the speedo isn't (which packed in again while I was out - the drive unit is definitely toast, just have to keep hunting for another one...).

Oil and filter change on the Vardero.
Cleaned and re-oiled the K&N air filter.

Made a rookie mistake when taking the sump plug out.
On the Varadero the sump plug is on the left side of the sump not underneath, making it far easier to acsess.
BUT, you need to move the bowl quite far out from under the bike to catch the initial flow.
I cought most of the oil.
Unfortunately quite a bit of that initial flow poured straight into my 30 minute old 120 piece Halfords professional tool set.  :bawl:
It least there is no chance of any of it rusting now.  :dl_smiley_banghead:

While I was there I removed a years worth of grunge from behind the front sprocket cover and greased the clutch rod actuator.

All she needs is a new set of Tourance (original) to be fitted on Thursday and some nice weather to ride it.  :sunny:

Speedo drive hunt was actually fairly short - Stein Dinse over in Germany has them in stock!

£58 & 2 days brought this to my door:

I'm going to see if the powdercoater has finished the replacement centre stand tomorrow & set aside some time over the weekend to swap it over.

I moved the bikes around in the garage as I need the V50 on the ramp to do the centre stand: this meant 3 of the girls got a little time in the sun together.

Took the XT1200 for its first MOT. Passed as expected, with just a mention that it's fookin' heavy...

Everytime I take he Varadero for an MOT or tyres they ask me to put it on the centre stand.
Comments have been made about how heavy it is when lifting off the side stand.
I find the S10 lighter than the Vara even though the s10 is heavier.

Bulldog:- re-fitted the post MOT, SP Engineering end cans. Refitted the Givi top case rack and made a couple of supports for the new style give top box plate. Rewired the aux rear lights in the top box and connected them to the Bigpie relay outlet do-dab. ( The top box masks the rear light a bit as it is somewhat recessed and it may not be visible to HGV drivers.)

Yesterday I took the Bulldog out for a 177 miles test run to Gt. Yarmouth. The self sticking aux lights in the top box did not stick at all well and they fell off. I have since spent some time with glue sticking myself to the box and to the aux lights although not got the light strips to stick to the box. While at GT Yarmouth I met a friend who has just bought dodge charger and had it decorated in the likeness of General Lee. Looking at it I was struck by the thought that I cannot recall the names of any of the characters in that show other than "Daisy" . I have no idea why!
Today I have wasted most of the day cleaning and polishing the T120. Yes I hate chrome rims and spokes and tubeless tyres. Never again. Meanwhile here's a picture of General Lee.

Not forgetting Rosco's dog "Velvet Ears" the Basset hound.

I recognise the café Brockett from when we were there last summer, up by the Pier end (left if facing the sea) - they had a couple of Harleys, Ford Crown Vic and a Trans-am also :thumb:
