So today was new toy day, in the shape of a Victory Crossroads. It was a bit of a blustery ride back but it stayed dry. I gave it a bit of soapy love and it came up surprisingly well. Definitely a bike not to get dirty in the first place as it took a lot of cleaning. More cleaning tomorrow...

Cheers mate, will do. It's been a different 'toy' to play with today & that's the home office. We lashed out on a new HP all-in-one computer and it's a bit of a beast. 27" touchscreen, Intel i9 processor, 16gb ram (3600mhz), 1 TB SSD storage! Our last PC was 12 years old and while it still works it's getting very slow and the hard drive makes some weird noises every now and again. I'll pop some pics up later on.

Took a look at some classic over in Inverness before the start of the Clubs annual traffic jam around the loch . . .

A nice view from a Triton, down the line of some of the bikes

The bike that helped grind down the British bike industry

This was a very well done homage to 3 of the colour schemes that covered the venerable RD400

This wasn’t in the ride line up but in the main car park. Very, very nicely restored little machine that just made me smile as I walked around it

A quirky looking Francis Barnet Fulmar

There had to be one that wet itself . . . well, to be fair on the Velocette, there was more than one machine that was leaving its mark on the car parks tarmac

Headed onto the smaller roads after leaving Inverness. Been down to this church once before and kept meaning to pop back. Fantastic walk along the Spey which is right next to the church.

A track on the hill above the church . . .

A bell tower is located on the hill overlooking the church – a good walk into the trees from the lane to actually get to the tower, hence a picture of the sign only

And finally, a nice pond shot . . .

I had a RD400E, white with red speed blocks and a Stan Stephens stage 1 tune.
That thing was sooooo much fun..........and 100% reliable in the time I had it.......bar the odd hot start :icon_wink:

I bought two RD 400's in a very large box many moons ago. It took a lot of time & effort but I got both of them up and running. Both C models and both really needed a rebore as they were a bit loose in the piston department. Both still did a ton mind... One was blue & red the other was satin black, both looked terrible.

Took the FJR for a ride to Huggys speedshop at Mallory Park.
Loads of interesting classic bikes to see and chat about.
Sausage and egg cob plus a cuppa for 4 quid....what's not to like.

Rode it some more  :auto-dirtbike:
Another day, another ride . . . this time too Royal Deeside . . .

This furry antlered group were just off the road leading up to the Lecht. 1st time I've seen so many reds on that part of the hill!

Then it was up & over the Lecht and onto Deeside. 1st time up Glen Muick. Nice & quiet, with very nice views once out of the trees . . .

Today saw a bit of modification to the Victory's exhausts. Both cat's out, exit tube shortened and a couple of 1/2" holes drilled into the back plate. All this is covered by two chrome tips so the bike looks standard. It hasn't made it loud & obnoxious but it's MUCH deeper and has a lovely burble now. It should add a couple of bhp too, happy. Just need some dry weather to try it out now...

Another ride after work today saw this lovely church, I hoped to fly the drone and take pictures but sadly to close to Southend airport  :icon_batterup:
So I took these with my phone instead.

You're not the only one, I'm not a religious person but love churches

The architecture, internal decor and atmosphere are sometimes amazing.

The pictures below are a church in gozo , malta.

Check out Fontevraud Abbey, if you're ever round that way. Beautiful.

I finally got the XJ back together after replacing the inlet manifold rubbers. Bike refused to start. two hours and a flat battery later I found that I had plumbed the fuel feed from the pump back into the tap and the other line was plumbed ito the carbs. Doh! After I switched the fuel lines to their correct locations the engine fired up and I thrashed it to Billingford for "Friday Bike Night". Just in time for a coffee and a burger before everyone departed.  My trip home was a fair bit faster than normal because I didn't have a spanner. If did have a spanner I could have adjusted the headlight so that it shone on the road and not just the front mudguard. Well in my defence I have not ridden in the dark  for a few years.
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can.
