First impressions of the new Leoch versus the (albeit ageing ) Yuasa ?

The Leoch looks identical to the defunct Yuasa, fits perfectly and fired up the dormant beast with ease straight out of the box.

I will post any issues, realistically there shouldn't be any.

Seeing as we're still in quarantine (I'm still testing negative) and climbing the walls, I dragged the bike out of the garage- It's done a couple of days out and a bit of commuting over last couple of weeks without a wash.

Fired up the pressure washer and snow foamed the bike and everything in sight
I ordered some Autoglym snow foam a while back, but hadn't bothered to try it.
It's far better than the Blizzard stuff I had from ebay a few years back.
New new stuff, gets about 90% of the muck off, only the nasty oily stuff remained, the mrs car looked nice and clean for the first time in 2 years.

Charlotte decided she wanted to help me wash the bike.

She's doing a fab job Mr Diver. Mine tell me to do it myself  :bawl:
I'll have to try that autoglym snowfoam when my current lot runs out  :thumb:

Used it to go to Manchester Airport.
Dropping something off as a favour and that took me right next to Terminal 3.
Even though I've lived in this area all my life it still surprises me sometimes that it's possible to be in the outskirts of Manchester at the third largest airport in the UK and in a relatively barmy 7°C and then thirty five minutes later I'm travelling over high open moorland with the dash frantically flashing the ice warning and showing only 3.5°

Got a new to me 21 reg 650xt last week and have added a Givi Rack for my Outback 42 top box, Givi tank ring for my Tank bag, Oxford premium heated grips for my little pinkies  a few Ram mounts for my Quadlock and stuff.

I bought a Givi Airflow screen, tried it, didn't like it and so sold it again and have ordered an MRA Vario which I had on the previous Stroms and loved it. I also ordered a peg lowering kit from Cosmo.

Today fitted a Cosmo Centre stand. By all accounts the springs would be the hard part but I have an exhaust spring puller and it took 3 seconds to fit them. (tip for anyone not mechanically minded that's fitting a centre stand - just buy a cheap spring puller it will save you so much time and effort). The bit that did take an hour though was the bolt that is hidden behind the exhaust  :angry-banghead: pain in the ....

@Endintears, you sound like you could have done with a heated vest or something. I'm sure someone was selling one on here, I can't find the link unfortunately.

Oh wait.

Tested (very  :)) )  recently, is in full working order, and highly effective.

A proper bargain you have there. Do you think it would work on a small tractor type thing dragging a broken gate around a field for no apparent reason?

I managed to get out for a rather chilly hour today and just beat the rain. I had a little bimble down the coast to Whitley Bay & Tynemouth (both places packed out) and then down to the fish quay at North Shields. If you look in the first picture you can see the little South/North Shields ferry and in the background the big Ijmuiden ferry. Looking the other way is the Tyne exit with the South Shields harbour marker.

I am working with the lunatic known as Mark Hooton from Cymarc  :smirk: He is creating a new Tail tidy for the Tenere 700 which is specific to the high exhaust option.

MOT test day and it passed so no big deal

However the weather was crap with slush and snow and a temp of less than 2°
During the morning I was thinking to myself if this gets any worse I'm going to end up having to cancel.
Seriously thinking of having it tested early to move the renewal to the autumn.
The MOT date for the Wee [that I had for years] used to be in October and although I might have got wet the odd time it wasn't the lottery that it is at this time of the year.

Got the same problem. MOT on the FJR  early on Thursday. Weather forecast is crap but at least it's not far to the tester. Just changed the front pads and they sound awful! Stop well but very noisy. Hoping a quick run tomorrow will bed them in.

I had a belting run out around the borders today with Morpethmatt. We hit some really obscure single track roads as well as some better known but pleasantly empty roads too, could just have been Mothers Day ? Just over 160 miles and averaging 54 mpg too, not bad for a big heavy old girl. My service indicator lit up today - service due in 21 days. It's booked in at Newcastle on the 22nd so that's near enough. It needs a new battery for the keyless fob as it showed 'fob out of range' a few times today. It took a good hour to wash when I got home mind...

Took her for a ride.

Mounted the hugger last week. I was surprised how well it fits the bike. Not bad for a Chinese part.

My GPX 750 R.

The belly pan has always been missing it's original grill at the front. Whilst working on my Strom a couple of weeks back I case across a grill on the old air filter I was about to throw away....... but wait, why not use it on the belly pan! So I cut it out, drilled fixings and bolted it on. here's the finished article:

So how's it going so far then?
