By contrast today's job was much easier than I expected. Fitted Grip Monkeys to the 690. I was prepared for a fight but I gave an eye to the instuctions and in accordance to their words I applied 50/50 water and washing up liquid with a small brush on the inside of the grip and it went on a treat with just push and twist.  And not a zip tie in sight.
I think I'll buy some for the other two.
Er..... oh!   er   yeah the Honda has been traded in for another bike.

To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

Removed the handle bar guards from the Strom ... too small for my hands. Adjusted the clutch.
My bike has a SW Motech bash plate ... its huge and resembles a small boat. It also appears to reduce airflow around the filter canister area and exhaust.
I don't ride off road, if I’m riding off road it’s because I’ve crashed through a hedge !

Any thoughts on these bash plate things for road bikes ?

Yes, they protect the underside of the engine , oil filter,  oil cooler and exhaust from road debris.

As for Reduced air flow,  its nothing to worry about.

There's a Suzuki plastic 'belly pan' type of thing that can keep some crud off. It also balances the look of the engine. Rare second hand, expensive new.

I have the SW bash plate. Tbf I'm probably Going to do a bit of gentle off road at some stage but I think it'll help give a bit of protection to down pipes, filter etc on the road.
Only slight irritation is I have to take it off to make changing the oil filter easier.
I quite like the look of it....makes me feel manly and rugged :happydance:

Depends on the year model of the bike,

SW Motech made various style belly pans- I had a K6 650cc bike which there were various models of belly pans, but the same basic shape with different hole shapes and positions - they would fit every 650cc bike with the SW/Suzuki engine bars from K4 to L6 - it's reasonable to assume they may even fit the 17> models.

Post a pic and I'll be more specific  - also a point to note ref the ventilation - these bikes are designed to operate without modifications in far hotter countries than the UK - Juvecu and Locky went to Morocco a few years back, riding the deserts for 8 hours a day with no issues-
in the Uk in the depths of winter the airflow over the oil cooler/filter particularly on K4-L0 models can cause the engine oil temp drop to an undesired temp.

With all the rubbish and pot holes on the roads these days I think a bash plate that protects the lower part of the engine, exhausts and oil filter is rather a good idea. Let's be honest nobody else out there, except other bikers, notices or cares what a bike looks like.

@Dark-Strom. look....  let's keep this one quiet for a while
OK?
You know I was torn between buying a Moto Guzzi 850 V7 Special or the Stone. Well I bought the Special and it really is a nice bike to ride. But they have just dropped the price of the V7 Stone by £700  So traded in the NC750 and I bought the Stone. And by the end of the month I'll have two V7s. The Special is chrome and shiny and will be a Sunday bike and the Stone is stealthy and all matt black and that'll be decorated with luggage for trips out and weekends away.

Rode the Varadero for the first time since the August meet.

Great to be getting past the traffic on my commute to work.
I'm having an evening off daddy duty and going for a ride, find a quiet spot and cook my tea on the camp stove.

You wound be correct.

Can I shag it?
