Fitted a taller Screen to the FJR. Now I have an electrically adjustable Screen it makes me wonder how I survived before

Why would one adjust the screen once you've found the spot that works?

It depends on the conditions (wind, rain) and where you are riding. On the Motorway you may have the screen high, in town maybe not.

Turned the mrs GSX1400 into a GSX1400-GT

I managed to get hold of a second hand set of SW Motech pannier rails for a bloke o the Facebook owners group. Motohaus took my order, 3 weeks later cancelled it as SW told them the rails are discontinued and they didn't have any to send.

The mrs now has to learn to ride with panniers. Does her bum look big on this bike?

We've got 3 sets of panniers, so she mainly can use the smaller Givi E21.]

Finished painting the 'bike trailer, fitted new wheels and tyres. Stripped, cleaned, lubed front brakes on the Nail. 15 years old and no corrosion

Just fitted a new chain on the Royal Enfield, the split link made it an easy fit, adjusting it was a bit fiddly. Whoever designed the snail cam adjusters should go back to school, although they'd be in their be in 80's by now

Gone camping in St Davids.
It's turned a bit wet and windy tonight.
Food is cooking on the coleman stove. Cider is cold.

It was a toasty warm 2 degrees last night. Frost on the bike this morning.
Still warmer than the Peak District on ST6.
Now I'm heading home the sun is shinning.

Took my wife out for her first trip on the back of the Varadero. She's happy with the comfort and luggage possibilities for Austria in the Summer.

I'm happy with how the bike behaved 2-up.

I didn't the first time SWMBO went pillion.

I've found the bike handles a bit better with a bit of weight over the rear wheel.

I know what you mean - though I wouldn't want to call mine a bit of weight in her hearing.

Suspension seemed a lot less bumpy. I expect I've got it set up wrong - I usually do.

Collected it from the dealers

Fitted shock sock and mudguard extension

Blasted it with ACF50

Found space to keep semi-necessary ****

Rode it and increased mileage by a factor of 37

As I've lashed out on a new car (Merc' GLC220d sport) I've swapped my private plate that was on my M class to my Supertenere using the DVLA's online transfer system. Surprisingly painless and easy, which is nice.

I assume you have to change both insurance policies and incur the admin fee?

I started to reassemble the xt225 only to find the piston rings are too big. Box part number is correct but what is inside is not it seems. The ends overlap when put in the cylinder to check the end gaps :s it's only taken 2 months to get this far.

I took the Bandit out for a decent run yesterday: it's the first time I've been out on it apart from dropping off & collecting for the MOT.
Well, this is a bike I'm going to take a wee while to get used to...
The seating position is comfy enough, but just so different; the 4 cylinder power delivery feels flat as a fart, and that dinky little 17" front makes the handling a bit alien compared with the sedate response of a 21". Katie is 5kg heavier but the Bandit just seems to carry it's weight a bit more noticably. Maybe it's the tank sat on top of the frame that I've got away from feeling? The lower gearing made me hunt for more gears every time I hit an open bit of road as well.
There's no denying that it's a very capable B road carver, but the cold day and tyres I'm still scrubbing in didn't inspire me with massive confidence yet: summer warmth & a few miles might get me past that.

I'm just not quite there with her yet...

One new policy (car) and one detail change, done on line for £0, which is nice.
