Crazy I dread the day I come to part with mine. I had a look at the book prices of my friendly dealer last year, mileage is way over and the price was shocking. Small hope is the media is pushing the strom now so private buyers realise what the bike is capable of. Good luck

I took my 13 plate glee to a dealer about 9 mths ago (when the bike had just turned 2 years old). At the time it had fdsh, and about 10k on the clock. I have engine bars, handguards, centrestand , scottoiler and other bits and bobs and was offered £3k.

I used to be a car trader in a previous life so wasn't totally surprised... I like the Veek or the KTM 1050 adventure but know its going to be mine +£8k before I buy any bits. Iwont do anything on the new bike that I can't do on my current steed....so why bother... I'm as well keeping it till its uneconomical to keep it on the road...

Mine's going to be the same. I'll keep it until it dies. May add a second bike during that time though...

£2300 seems like stealing to me. Another vote for keep it and run it forever.

What's wrong with selling privately. .?
You get more money and then you have the cash to barter with rip off dealers.

Agreed. ^^^^

I tend to find out what a trade-in is worth at a couple of dealers, then look at private sale asking prices and pitch the bike price somewhere between the two. Usually I make it clear that there's no haggling if the price is decent already.

It helps to have other wheels so you aren't left without transport in the event of a 'first to see will buy' quick sale.

I've a 13 plate, 6300, luggage, scottoiler etc, etc, and offered £3500 against a brand new R1200GS, bloke showed me the 'book' price at £3250.  I paid £4850 off a dealer last August, in Blackpool, so probably about right, unfortunately.  Private sale is definitely the way to go.  I reckon I'd get £4300 here in NI, used prices are a bit stronger

yes  private probably is the way to go.
just thought I would ask the local Suzuki dealers (where it came from)
the main reason is I want my drive way back as it takes up 1 car place and we have a alleyway which
is 3 feet wide (the same as the bar-ends)  and as there is a corner the bike won't go though.
but if I get a 125 (10 miles to work) and I could then put it in the garden and have my drive back.
