Top speed of A2 restricted V-Strom DL650?
« on: February 27, 2016, 13:13:47 »
Hello again everyone,

I was wondering if anyone on here has has to ride the DL650 with the A2 restrictions on it, if so could you give me a rough idea on top speeds?
I'm not planning on going around the Nuremberg track but it'd be nice to know what I can push her too.

For those of you who don't know power restriction is: 35kW - 49.6BHP

A mate of mine back in the day had a restricted gszr 600. He still got well above the speed limit (120mph I think he used to say he had been on it) it just got there a little slower but was still quick. I think you will find you'll have more than enough power to play with buddy don't worry

Josh - Jabmotorsport on here - should be able to give a definitive answer to the original question, I would bet.

I had a blast through Snowdonia with Josh on his restricted glee. It gets to 65-70 then the speed creeps up slower than my k6 wee. After 10miles or so I pulled over and waited 3-4 mins for them to catch up.
We were both 2up and but I alone weigh what Josh and Justine do combined.

But the 650cc Strom is best suited below 80mph anyways. So he power restiction is only when blasting along.
