Quick question to Wee owners
« on: January 05, 2016, 23:08:52 »
Does the Wee have a display or a light on the clocks to tell you you're in 6th gear ?

Thanks in anticipation

The Wee doesn't have one stock but you can get a gear display.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. 2012 DL650A outlasted me.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 (K2-L2) DL1000s. Veek=2014+ (L4+) DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 (K4-L1) DL650s. Glee = 2012+ (L2+) DL650s

OK thanks gents.

A gear display is what I'll need then.

I just go on the assumption that if I can't get a higher gear them I'm in top gear.
On the wee 6th is very flexible don't know lowest speed but would reckon about 25 at tick over to well over 100.
Life is short - You have to enjoy it on a Wee-Strom!

My Glee has spoiled me with its gear indicator, I just know I'll miss it if I buy a Wee.

Can you not judge with the speed vs revs? Mine is more pronounced than normal as I run a 17 tooth front sprocket but I can tell at a glance if I'm in top or not (speed is further round the dial than revs).

Yes I remember doing that with my Honda's a few years back. Getting lazier nowadays though.

I tried the Speed higher than Revs thing.

Bought a GiPro indicator instead. Never did find that elusive 7th gear.

I was always looking for 7th gear too. Thankfully I never found it...

I got a bigpie gpi and it works a treat.
