Just read this complete thread and tomorrow I shall be phoning my dealer as I have a 2014DL1000
Having always ridden in line fours I thought the backfires and lumpiness at low revs which I was dealing with by slipping the clutch was because it was a twin  :dl_smiley_banghead:

Has anybody had their ecu replaced by alpha motorcycles in Essex? might may the conversation easier if they have already replaced ecu's on other bikes.

Thanks for your replies, I will take to dealer on Saturday and try again. Came back from France last Sunday where I had awful kangerooing in towns and 3 stalls at junctions. Got 6k miles on her and fueling seems to be getting worse.

Picked up a 15 plate Veek Sport today. Couldn't test ride it before as bought from a sole trader with no trade plates. Rough as old boots lower down the rev range so had a look when I got home and sure enough it has a J00 ECU. Let battle commence...  :icon_batterup:

Dealer failed to ring back, so I rang them, different bloke this time but he was implying that is how V's ride. so after a brief discussion on that is not how the bike should be, he said I would have to bring it him for him to look at, explained that it isn't a constant fault but there is a definite issue, he said he would contact Suzuki to see what they say about the ECU.
I will give him to Monday afternoon to return a call, if not I think I will go direct to Suzuki.

ECU replaced under warranty this morning.

Immediately noticed much smoother on/off the throttle in 1st & 2nd. Seems better at low rpm in higher gears but that could be my imagination. No more stalling or sneezing :-)

Well worth getting rained on for :-)

Had my ECU replaced this morning. Immediately different on starting, it revs to 2000rpm and stays there for a while, on riding away the throttle is definitely smoother and easier to control.

Called dealer again.

Me - after saying who am I "you didn't call me back"
Dealer " yeah there is no replacement on the ecu"
Me "that's funny as I have just got off the phone to Suzuki customer services and they said you should be replacing the ECU if its a J000, which it is"
Dealer "Oh, who did you talk to"
Me "never got a name but the number is 0500011959 but then you'd know that already wouldn't you"
Dealer "OK I will ring them"

This was over an hour ago, still no return call from dealer

What is it with some of these dealers, some of us have no problems like myself with Thunderroad, others seems to have nothing but hassle all the way.http://www.v-strom.co.uk/smf/Smileys/default/dl_smiley_banghead.gif

My early 2015 Veek is running great but as a precaution I am getting the ECU changed. Called Suzuki customer services and spoke to a very nice woman who took my registration number and confirmed that my bike was covered to have the ECU changed under guarantee. Called Saltire Suzuki in Edinburgh and service department again asked for the reg number and they have ordered in a new ECU "002" version. bike booked in next weekend for replacement which will take 1 hour. Suzuki customer services informed me that all Suzuki dealers have been updated with a service alert regarding the ECU replacement. Any Suzuki dealer who claims to know nothing about it is not being truthful. Happy days  :lala:

No call back from dealer as yet, so I called them.

they are still unaware of ECU issue , so I once again called Suzuki, the nice lady at Suzuki said all dealers had been sent a memo in ref to the ECU replacement, guess my dealer does not read his  :dl_smiley_banghead:
Asked Customer services if they would ring dealer as I am being fobbed off by them, lady said she would do this for me  :thumb: 5 minutes later the dealer calls me to say I am approved for an ECU change  :happydance:

Maybe I'm a sceptic, but if anyone else has problems getting an ECU change from their dealer give Suzuki customer care a ring on 0500 011 959 and ask them to ring your dealer to sort the issue.

Had my bike serviced today and mentioned that my bike was running poorly at the low end , they didn't hesitate and booked me a new ecu unit to be fitted. So I was pleased once more with my dealer ( Orwell motorcycles Ipswich Suffolk ).
