Deep joy in Brizzle !
This morning Bike in at dealers and ECU done. Went and had 'slim boys breakfast' when they did job. Mechanic came and found me hour later, and I knew it was going to be good when he said 'it rides lovely now!' Seems strange but I seem to be the first in one of the UK largest dealerships (Fowlers Bristol) to have it done.
The 13 miles home became 50 and like many before me on this thread, I can only say the difference is like 'Night and day' or 'chalk and cheese'. No harshness, 30 mph is where I really noticed it. One village is about 4 miles long and 30mph. Used to have to be in third (sometimes even 2nd) Now I could easily stick it in 5th and get away with it. I then hopped onto M5 and did a few miles and again really noticed how performed so much better between 50 and 70 in 6th. It never really liked 50 in top (6th) before this.
It is sad that many riders from 2014/15 bikes must be riding these great bikes oblivious that the rough running is not a characteristic, but a p1ss poor map and ecu. That said I am grateful to my dealer and Suzuki who have fixed mine without any drama. I wonder how anyone would get on with an early 14 bike out of warranty.
As a footnote I get 'Motorcycle Sport and leisure.' In this months The rider Bruce hands back his V strom 1000 after long term test loan period. He states he really liked it, will miss it , apart from.....lumpy running, lumpy motor at low revs. He has not got a clue about this ! I feel the need for an e mail !
