Good news for me as well, went today in Romford at Suzuki and talked to the mechanic and the bloke that deals with servicing and recalls... explained my situation that the dealer where I bought the bike doesn't want to change the ecu and my bike has stalled and is having some low speed issues ...
They are going to order a ecu on Monday and book me in asap to change it ...
I want to thank everyone for the helpfully information and advice especial Wurzel ho has recommended me to go and talk to the dealer in Romford...

Cheers blokes can't wait for the following week :)))

Took mine to Five ways this aft for the warranty recall and said about the fact the bike feels lumpy and stalls (which it did 3 times on the way there) they are going to check the ecu and hopefully get it sorted so fingers crossed it happens soon ????

I got my second stall today. Scared the life out of me!! Low speed going round a bend is not best place to loose control of the Strom. Luckily there were no other vehicles around and I was able to get it vertical before completely loosing it.

I have the recall work being done in a few days and will mention this!

I trust the dealership I bought from. Small but busy. Always had good service from them in the past so in sure it'll be fixed when they see how bad the bike is running.

I would recommended  getting the ECU changed  even if you haven't noticed a low speed issue, the power delivery of the bike is so much better with new ECU you would swear its not the same machine.. and I think it might be better on fuel!!

Here is a picture from a German forum that shows the benefits of having a new ecu fitted... the difference in torque in 2nd gear is astonishing... Can't wait for mine to come in :)
Doted lines are with old series ecu and regular lines with the new one.
Hope this will help some of the blokes that are not convinced about changing the ecu for the new one. ;)

Sasha, A good find and this is apparent when you ride the bike with the upgraded ECU,

Thanks

I had the ecu replaced once, they told me that currently I have installed the most recent one, but I still notice the puff in the air box (backfire ? ) and I m visiting occassionally the garage for feedback but still nothing.
That backfire that is present (even less than original ecu) is not acceptable in my opinion, since it is combined with bike stall.

How should this be escalated further towards Suzuki?

Does your new ECU has the part number ending with "2"???
There was one "intermediate" ECU with part number ending with "1" , and that one didn't bring much change to the problems of Vee2.
Mine was swapped in October last year and it has the part number ending with "2" and I only experience the puff if I run the bike with cold engine, and it hapens 2-3 times until engine gets warm. If I let it warm up for 5 minutes before the ride, I experience no problems at all.

do you have any quick reference over checking number?
I was told that it is the second one, and was replaced on March if I remember correctly.
mine does the same thing as well (I ve mentioned over stromtroopers) it will puff and loose power then is with cold engine but after that OK.

It's the ecu under seat, under fuses/relays, just behind battery. You need to lift that stuff out the way to see the number.

With new ECU, just let it warm up for 5 minutes before each ride and you'll never have a problem again. If you want to ride again after 3-4 hours parked, 2 minutes warm-up would be enough.
This is from my own experience and doing that I have no problems at all.
To be more acurate, if you're in hurry, wait for one bar on temperature display and then you can ride but two bars would be the best.

That's similar experience that I have as well, but I believe that Suzuki should solve it. usually I start the bike and leave immediatelly, that's why I m mostly concerned about this remaining issue.
I have already given feedback to Suzuki, about this, but don't know if it is still being escallated by other owners across different countries

Just came back from the dealer and after 25 miles I must say that it's a different bike ... runs better low down allot smoother and there is no more power hole between 3500 and 6000 in 2nd and 3 gear ...
Before I couldn't run the bike under 3000 rpm in 3 now it's running very nice at 2000 2500 rpm in 4th at 30 miles an hour...
Thumbs up for John's of Romford for doing this for me without asking many questions...
I went in with mtc exhaust and went out in under 1h very prompt and helpfull.
One question for people ho run the TRE with the new ecu : what is the major difference and if it's worth spending 100 quid for it ?

Cheers ;)
