Madstad Bracket
« on: August 27, 2015, 10:54:27 »
I'm guessing that the Madstad bracket replaces the stock windscreen tilt mechanism but I can't find out for sure. Could anyone who has one let me know please? Thanks  :)

correct

replaces the stock mounts on Wee's, Glee's and k4 onwards Vee's, I'm not sure how they work on the 2014 onwards Veek's

No, that's not correct as far as I can see. The stock three position forward tilt mechanism stays and the madstad bracket bolts directly to where the stock screen is removed from.

This is the problem! I've looked at the website but it's not clear to me how it fits. Madstad brackets usually take care of tilt as well as elevation so I would have thought it replaces the stock tilt mechanism, but I can't see for sure...

Anyone here fitted one..?

Careful, the question is in the new DL1000 section and is specific to that bike. It doesn't matter what fits on the older 650's.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. 2012 DL650A outlasted me.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 (K2-L2) DL1000s. Veek=2014+ (L4+) DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 (K4-L1) DL650s. Glee = 2012+ (L2+) DL650s

Thanks all  :)

From the photos in greywolf's link it looks like the Madstad bracket bolts onto the stock adjusting arms, meaning you'd then have 2 ways of adjusting the tilt...

I checked with Madstad and their bracket does bolt onto the stock bracket meaning you then have 2 ways to adjust screen tilt  :)
