Paddock stand VS Moto x lift stand
« on: July 31, 2015, 11:43:37 »
Simply as the above really...
Does anyone have any likes, dislikes, positives, negatives of either?

I know lots of you will say fit a center stand but I hate them so they are out- sorry.

This is my current work stand....

I have a paddock stand, an abba stand and a moto x lift stand.

Paddock stand ( prong type with bobbins fitted to the swing arm ) is quick and easy to use. Handy for rear wheel removal, chain lubing and I tend to pop it on it when I wash the bike also.

The abba stand I use for more serious work and front wheel removal. It holds the bike very stable and I use the paddock stand to lift the front of the bike. ( Has adapters for that. )

The moto x lift stand isn't seeing much use these days, the DL is too heavy for it and my moto x days are over.

I have a Moto X stand but only for the 120kg 250cc. I wouldn't use it on anything heavier.

A paddock stand that picks up the rear, but neither would I use one for a bike like the strom.

I hate centre stands too, but they are a necessary evil.

I used to put the VFR on a paddock stand on my own but it was always a faff.

As you can see in the picture my current technique is to lift it on to the breeze block although I don't do anything particularly regular. Good old dry lube doesn't need messing about with to much since I ain't commuting on it.
