Do you annoy your neighbours? (Video)
« on: July 24, 2015, 18:02:32 »

My exhaust is quite loud. On the open road I am glad of this. Leaving home early in the morning, not so much. Hence my quick release baffle. The bent end fits over the baffle screw which I leave in even when the main exhaust baffle is out - it does not come loose. I pop it in before leaving, not to wake up my dozing neighbours, and when I reach the busy nearby traffic on the main road, pull into the side, remove in a couple of seconds and I'm on my way. Similarly returning late at night. Not for use over long periods due to the nature of it's contruction. The beauty of fuel injected bikes is they adjust instantly to different exhaust flows. Not ideal in that someone else may be offended by the noise further on in your journey but it serves a purpose, particularly, if like me, you prefer your exhausts not to be quiet most of the time. Okay, looks a bit odd sticking out but when no one's around and for a very short distance - does it really matter?

Cheers. Some mods  cost very little but are very effective, such as filling bars with sand to reduce vibration!

Top mod, I like that.

My neighbours (retired) paticularly appreciate my early starts in my car. It has a 2.4 litre 5 cylinder turbo charged petrol engine with a 3" exhaust. They really enjoy it when I leave it ticking over when I have to scrape the frost off. :)
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

Fill handlebars with sand - stops any tingles.

My 70 year old neighbour when I asked him whether removing baffles annoyed him, replied that it sounded quite nice. When I said some people may find it annoying, he replied they should get a life.  :)
