Swingarm movement
« on: June 20, 2015, 19:52:02 »
Hi
I have a 2015 glee with just 750 miles and have just fitted a centre stand.
With the bike on the centre stand , If I lift the rear of  the swing arm up I can feel movement/play like it's taking up the slack in something , can't feel any sideway play just up and down , can't believe it's a bush in the shock or the linkage.
Has anyone else noticed this or could do a comparison test for me .
Regards
Woody

There shouldn't really be any vertical play, even with no load. Run it into your dealer if it's convenient.

There has to be enough clearance for the swingarm pivot, two shock bolts mounted in rubber, two dog bone pivots and two rocker pivots to move. All that clearance plus movement in the shock rubbers is multiplied by a decent factor to produce some up and down play at the rear. Side to side play only involves the swingarm pivot clearance. What you are seeing may be perfectly normal.

Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 (K2-L2) DL1000s. Veek=2014+ (L4+) DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 (K4-L1) DL650s. Glee = 2012+ (L2+) DL650s
