Chain and sprockets
« on: June 15, 2015, 20:30:19 »
Hi everyone

Starting to think about a chain and sprocket change on my 2014 1000 but if you search any of the normal sources eg B and C, Demon Tweeks etc they don't list a drive kit for the new 1000. Any ideas anyone. Even my local dealer raised an eyebrow as if Suzuki had listed one yet.

JT do sprockets for the 2014 and the chain is a 525 116 link. Chain I put on was listed for a KTM 1190R. ( 116 link as well ) A nice gold DID zmvx. :)

This is on ebay, no idea of the quality of the sprockets:

other options there as well.

I've always got about that from a chain as I fit and forget about it. Scotoiler does the oiling. And give it a scrub down every service.

But the vara is getting better looked after.

I am surprised you require a chain and sprockets so soon, mine is now on 16,500 miles and have not had to even adjust the chain yet. I do lubricate with a small brush and Hypoid 90 gear oil a bit of a pain but has always worked for me.

 :)
Do it today as there may not be a tomorrow.

It will probably last longer I am just being a little fussy. I do tend to over service my bikes.

Hi

Hunters Motorcycles in Newcastle do a wide range of chains and sprockets.

I've just ordered one for my 650 vstrom. Very reasonable price.

They advertise on Ebay too.

Good luck
