Rear brake grub screw....stuck!
«

Good morning all,
After 24,500 odd miles on me 2013 650 its time to change the pads. I do regularly remove, clean and bleed the brakes but this time the rear brake grub screw/cover is not shifting.
Any one else had this problem??

Mine was a bit awkward to remove but managed in the end. It went back on with a good dose of copper grease. Good luck

I had something similar just recently. I ended up using Plusgas in the threads and then a hot air gun on the casing. After some time soaking and a very carefully chosen flat blade screwdriver I eventually managed to get the thing to crack open. You will have to be VERY careful with the screwdriver size or you will round off the grub screw and then it's drilling out hell for you.
I had bought a replacement ahead of time and was a bit more careful putting it back in (it was my fault it was stuck as I screwed the thing in too tight on the previous brake strip down.
Good Luck!
