2013 and 2014 bikes
« on: June 09, 2015, 19:39:17 »
Hi to you all. I am now the owner of and 2014 650 DL and I am very pleased with it. However I am getting a little confused trying to get a workshop manual for it. All the books that I have come across are up to 2013 and my bike is 2014. OK so I bought it in 2015 but the dealer told me that it was a 14 bike which they had fitted all the bits to, to bring it up to the spec: of the 2015 XT ABS model, front crash bars, sump guard ,panniers  etc: etc:
As I will be doing all the servicing my self, I need a book, but am holding off until I can get it clear in my mind that I am getting the right one. Can any one help please?
Regards JG

Hi UncleJohn and :welcome:

I'm sure that 2012/2013 and 2014 are all the same.

Ask a question in a more general forum section as not everyone reads the Intro's.

:welcome:

between 2012-15 all 650's will be the same basic spec apart from the XT having the beak and spoked wheels.
Any engine bars, bash plates and panniers are just add on's to make it into a different spec model

Hi blokes.
Thank you for your answers, all helpful. Just back from Normandy on my 1943 350 Matchless and now need to get the circulation back in my big end after 440 miles on a rigid. Out on the V last night. Had to start all over again. Who nicked the kick start, oh! that's not the hooter is it, the engines running. Cor!!!
I will now order one of Mr Haynes books. Always up for a laugh.
keep to the grey stuff

Literature can stop at, say, 2013 because that's when it was written. The 2014 and 2015 standard bikes are the same.
