Seems like a good deal, but a service every 6 months to maintain the warranty seems a bit OTT! That's assuming I've read it correctly.......

£7595 + £108 OTR charges as well.

Parallel imports more likely given the € v £ exchange rate, IMO.

That looks a bargain, not sure about the 6mth servicing for the 7yr warranty though.

They'll do a 7 year warranty if you service it with them BUT you have to service it every 4,000 miles or 6 months, whichever comes first, for it to be valid  :text-datsphatyo:

Price of the bike is good, though I'd check out standard 2yr warranty conditions before buying given the above as I'm sure Suzuki GB won't cover the warranty on an import.

Edit: Hondaman beat me to it whilst I was reading ebay/typing

Warranty sounds like a con. Charging for unnecessary service work sounds fishy.

You know this kind of thing really pisses me off...... ###

I tend to change my bikes quite often and if you've paid near the retail price and a year later decide to swap, the first thing your local stealer will do is go on Autotrader to compare prices and bid you accordingly.  Imagine if you'd paid £10.5k 6 months ago and he sees a new bike at £7.5k he's going to bid you around £6k as a trade in.

Suzuki GB should keep the dealers in check..... :angry-tappingfoot:

Rant over...... :GRR:

They won't be a Suzuki dealer. Suzuki dealers would lose their franchise if they brought in grey imports.
Now on a Super Tenere having put 64k miles on a 2011 DL650

I read on this post that these bikes from the Peterborough dealer were likely to be parallel imports from Europe. Can someone enlighten me as to what the difference is to a UK bike. I only ask as I rang a dealer this afternoon who is selling at a comparable price but he said his bikes were UK ones but then added that there was only one model exported from Japan for both UK and Europe and they were identical. I am thinking of changing my KLR for a new DL1000 but am frankly confused-I don't want to buy a new one that when I come to sell, someone will give a sharp intake of breath and tell me-Oh its a parallel mate and only worth the square root of foxtrot alpha.

Parallel imports have been going for years mainly because Europe pay a lot less for equivalent models
a friend of mine bought a Honda st1100 parallel import 15 years ago and saved about £5000
 Things to check are
Make sure it is the equivalent spec bike to uk bike
Clocks are in mph not kph
Headlights are to uk spec
You save lots of money
Check warranty Peterborough offer 7 years warranty but only if you have it serviced by them.
As far as I know manufacturers have to honour warranty if purchased in the EU as were all one friendly family ! Also its the law.
DL1000 £9000
Peterborough motorcycles £7500
Huge saving
If you intend to buy but change after a couple years buy uk bike
If you intend to buy and keep longer term then probably the import is better as you get a big saving upfront but much further down the line devaluation much less pronounced as mileage and condition start to matter more.
If comparing to second hand then id rather have a new machine.

Thanks for that lawvar- the observation about anticipated length of ownership is a very pertinent and not one I'd considered. The deals from Peterborough do look very tempting though!

get the chassis number and check with either a Suzuki dealer or Suzuki uk.
They can tell if its an official import or not .

It states in the advert that they are imported from Europe, they can do this at present because of the Euro exchange rate favours it.

Just on warranty, Suzuki UK's website says they'll honour warranty on EU imports so if I were after one I'd be happy with a cheap as chips one...
