Right now., listening to the whining in my right ear. Not my Mrs, just terrible tinnitus. But even that can't drown out the VOICES IN MY HEAD!!

I know many out there will have neither time nor inclination to listen to all ( or any) of this: my "go to" music when I need some head peace.

George Butterworth, had he survived, would have been one of the most significant British composers of the 20th century.
The premier of this piece of music was a few months before the outbreak of the first war. Butterworth enlisted and served as a junior officer until he was killed in August 1916 during the battle of Somme.

I'm sitting listening to radio 2, the windows are open and I'm watching birds on the feeder. The DJ (Michael Ball) announced that he was going to play Beyonce's version of "Blackbird". I rushed to put my hearing aids in and then the beautiful sound of the blackbirds rushed into my ears and mind, Not Beyonce but the real thing.

I like that Brockett, it's easy to lay back with eyes closed and imagination nice things while listening to it. I would be surprised if it has not been used in a film.

Good piece,starts with a feeling of rolling countryside to me,comes on all Marshal and fighting in the middle and settles down to end on a peaceful note ,lovely
