ECU pin for o2 Sensor
« on: December 04, 2014, 10:52:07 »
Hello Lads,

I will be disconnecting the o2 sensor on my Vstrom 1000 K9.

Does anyone know what ecu pin I need to pull to stop the warning light once this is done?

Save on any possibility of problems and get a plug off ebay that you plug in to the wiring loom where the 02 sensor plugs in. It tells the ecu that the 02 sensoris working when it isn't even there I had one on my bandit and it worked a treat!

This was mentioned to me before but I couldn't find something that would definitely fit.
Not really sure what to look for

I couldn't get a blanking plug for the O2 sensor connector for my 1000. The ones for other Suzukis don't appear to fit so I disconnected the O2 sensor, blanked the wires/plug off and cable tied them out of harms way. If you do this you'll then need to disconnect the appropriate ECU pin to stop a fault message coming up of on the dash.

There appear to be at least two wiring layouts used on the later 32 bit ECU that uses two plugs (one small and one large). The sheet from Dynojet says to disconnect pin 17 with the black with brown tracer. This did not tally with my bike (2007 DL1000) at all. It didn’t even have a black/brown wire at all. After much rummaging on the internet and speaking with a Dynojet installer it turned out that I needed to disconnect pin 11, the black with white tracer in the small ECU plug, which did the trick. Whether this is correct for you bike I cannot guarantee.

You don't need to cut this ECU O2 wire (when you've successfully located it!). There is a removable front cover surrounding the ECU pins on the small plug. Remove it and using a very small screwdriver you can press the little tangs on the pin and then push it out and tape it up securely. You can the easily put it back at some future date if needed.

          Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info bloke. Yeah I found out yesterday that there is no o2 sensor eliminator for the DL1000.
I had a chat with dynojet and they are telling me that pin 17 that's black/brown will disconnect the o2 sensor.

I guess there is only one way to find out!  The bike is in for its service late next week and we will test pin 17 and pin 11. It will be obvious enough which one works when the FI light turns off.

One more point.... The sheets sent to me by Dynojet about disconnecting pin 17 show a diagram of the plug. However their labelling of the pin numbers was incorrect. The pin numbers (at the end of the pin rows) can be found on the plugs but these did not correspond with the diagram and, if my memory serves me correctly, were the wrong way round. So just check this when trying to locate the correct pin!
