Vee or Wee
« on: November 13, 2014, 20:08:20 »
For the past five years I've ridden my k9 Wee and loved it unconditionally except, that is, when I ride with my wife as pillion. Then, fully loaded, on French autoroute inclines, I  find myself wishing for a bit more ooopphh.
Now I see  a K8 Vee for sale, all mint condition, only 8000 miles  and full Suzuki luggage and I'm wondering... The 650 is fully farkled, ABS, madstad, bars, hand guards, sump guard, givi panniers and top box and I'm attached to it emotionally. Stick or twist?

Don't worry about the mods, they should be transferable apart from the lh hand guard, but the 1000 doesn't have ABS. The dilemma is performance versus fuel economy. Your call!  Best of luck :)

The thousand..less nimble..heavier..fuel consumption..

Six-fifty..how often do you need that little extra oomph? Fully loaded, like me with my old Divvy, it still did it..

I'd go with the bike that does the most in all circumstances for me..
So how's it going so far then?

+1 - How often do you really need that grunt and do you want to compromise for 11.5 months a year?

Yeah, stick with the 650. You don't seem to require the extra the 1000 is offering anything like often enough to make it a worthwhile swap.

Thanks for those thoughts. A good old dose of commonsense. Just the ticket.
