Tempted by the 1000.
« on: November 08, 2014, 11:59:50 »
Just popped in to my local dealer (B&B of Lincoln) this morning for a few bits and bobs and they have a brand new DL1000 in white with delivery miles only and registered last week for £7,995 on the road. Had a brief chat with them about it and was I not so extreamly happy with my 650 I could be seriously tempted. I would have to sell the 650 myself as at that money they just want a quick sale with no part exchange.

I sat on one at the Whitby Ride out ......... if I bought the white one would the wife know ?????

Probably because there would be two sitting on the drive  lol ..... I don't think I could ever get rid of Suzy now as she is everything I want from a ride

I saw a white 1000 at J&S today, it had a sign on it asking for you to ask for help if you wanted to sit on it :S I didn't sit on it, didn't even look at the price. It does look pretty nice, the luggage rack looked like it belongs on a toy though. The wife can only kill you once.

I'm currently storing a TTR 250 for a friend, he's hiding from the power that be. It's in my best interest to keep my mouth shut, when she finds out I'll be tried as an accomplice and reasonable doubt will be the least of my worries. I don't recommend this method.

I buy bikes with the pretence that they are for her.
Replacement of the strom I'd have issues... does the strom come factory lowered for a 5ft1 rider???

Just get another bike. But be warned buying a second bike will not get it out of your system... that's how I ended up with 3 running bikes and a nearly complete project.

Bigpie, this keeping secrets thing is becoming a bit of a habit. Have you spoken to Uncle Carl's wife (your Auntie) recently?

Is Uncle Carl still "looking" at the S1000RR, I wonder if a blue one is his preference?
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

As it happens I ran in to him in J&S today, he did say he was still wanting to change bikes, he said he's been thinking about a Navigator :p
