Heated Grip connector on Glee - Help please
« on: October 10, 2014, 14:50:25 »
Hi Folks - I know where the connector is on my Glee so my question is this: I'm sure I've seen a post on here showing where to buy connectors that will fit the OEM plug on the Glee but for the life of me I can't find it again! I seem to remember that a horn lead fits but I'd rather buy just the connector as I'm tight!
Anyone help?

A Suzuki horn lead will plug into the heated grips connector. Part number 36852-06G00. Also, An Eastern Beaver VStrom heated grip adapter from http://www.easternbeaver.com/Main/Bike_ ... ripadaptor will plug right in to the OEM connector but there is a $20 minimum order. A headlight relay kit is a good idea to fill the requirement.

Thanks for this Pat. I will buy a lead if all else fails but was hoping for just a connector to fit into the standard Suzuki one - at less than $20 if I can

The horn lead plugs directly into the heated grip connector and has spade connectors on the other end that may be useful or they can be cut off and the insulation trimmed back to provide bare wires.

I'm pretty sure the connector is a type HM090 (that's what the eastern beaver description says, and it looks right). There are some sellers on eBay for a couple of quid if you search for that. But do make sure it looks right. If I remember right, the one on the bike is female, so you need a male to plug in. But don't take my word for it!

I have the horn lead but not fitted it.Is the female end fused or do I have to add one.If it can run heated grips I assume it will run a pair of gerbins heated gloves or Sat Nav / phone. The other one hidden near headlights, what can it be used for-2013  DL650

The heated grips socket is fused as is the accessories socket on the right-hand side near to the headlight. The accessory socket won't be heavy duty, so only a few amps I'd guess, but easily enough for a GPS / phone charger.

The heated grip connector is fused off the signal fuse. The aux connector on the Glee is fused off the ignition fuse. The former is meant to handle about 30W and the latter no more than 3W.
