I suspect you have a couple of bolts and two washers left over, ie parts list numbers 7 and 17. Where do they fit?. Have you noticed how poor the coating is on the metal parts, keep an eye on rust which will soon appear.
The poor quality finish is equal to the poor quality finish on the grab rail. Has anybody else complained to Suzuki about the grab rail?
I have heard that some people have had a replacement better quality finished rail.

I also finished up with 2 x M6 x 60mm screws and 2 x 6mm washers. Likewise did not fit item 12 just used the original spacers that protect the plastic pannier rails.

 :)
Do it today as there may not be a tomorrow.

If I owned the DL1000 I think I would buy the Givi plate just to cover the ridiculous 'Airfix toy' rear carrier supplied by Suzuki  :GRR:

Suzuki have finally upgraded the finish on the rear rack/grab handles. Its now a glossy affair which has either been lacquered or plastic coated. It looks far better than the original satin finish one and more durable.  Hopefully it will not suffer the problems of the original.
What a shame they didn't do it right in the first place.

It's good that they seem to acknowledge the poor finish, unfortunately it put me off the bike completely  :GRR:

Do you have any images of the update?
