Alternative Tank Bags?
« on: September 23, 2014, 21:37:39 »
Has anybody fitted a tank bag other than the genuine Suzuki one to their Veek? I'm looking at options as I need a tank bag for carrying charging points for phones, Gps, GoPro batteries etc, but the suzy one is mega bucks!

Hi I have fitted a baglux tank cover and bag, it fits like a glove and protects the tank from scretches, I am verry pleased with it. :)

I also have a Bagster cover and Bagster Cross'R tank bag on my Wee. I'm not sure the bag will have the same fit on the Veek, but it's good to know that the cover protects my tank from "stretches" lol

I too have gone with the baglux (bagster) tank cover, fits and looks really well.

I then modify standard luggage, map pockets etc to fit as most of the bagster bags don't meet my requirements for size and price.

I've fitted the mounting ring for the Givi Tanklock bag.

I have 2 bags - a small '3D' one & a larger touring bag.

Excellent quality & so easy to attach / detach.

Much less fuss than the Bagster I had on my Wee

Rather than start a new topic; I'm toying with the idea of fitting a tank bag. I like the idea of the tank ring (I think) I would be looking for a capacity of about 25 litres.

How much do they restrict your view of the instruments, including a handlebar mounted Sat Nav?
Any comments would be welcome

must be great to be perfect.
If you think you can, or you think you can't, either way; you're right.

On a serious note, I've just fitted a Givi 3d603 and am very pleased with it. I just wanted somewhere for wallet/glasses/camera/phone, so small is good.  The tanklock system is good too. Being small it doesn't obscure my satnav or clocks.
I was going to go for the 3D604 bag, but was concerned that it would obscure my Sat Nav which is mounted on the bars.

I have my GPS mounted to the left of the clamps so that it's above XS308 tank bag (when it's not extended), and access to the ignition key is a bit easier.

Just fitted a givi 307 to my Veek , at 15litres seems just the right size, will get out for a ride at the weekend to try it properly.
I've been asked why I have 3 bikes, well that's because I'm not allowed any more.

This small tank bag will not restrict your view of the instruments -

And neither will this large one either -

I'm not convinced you'd be able to see your satnav behind the large one if you had it fitted to the bars though.

Both the bags are SW Motech Bags Connection. The larger one is the Quick Lock Evo GS.

I've never expanded it past it's normal 16 ltrs as it's a very large bag anyway although it would grow to 22 ltrs if you wanted. If you'd like to see it fully expanded I'll take another photo tomorrow and post it up.

Here is the Givi 307

103.3 Euros including the Tank ring from accessorimotostore.com

As can be seen it touches the Garmin on full lock, but other than that is very good, just big enough for me.
