Any idea where this is from?
« on: September 16, 2014, 17:34:19 »
Yesterday had a little problem. Going round a parking ballard at work, and having done it a thousand times before, the bike decided to lean and lie down.

Anyway, the seat leaned against the ballard and the bike just kind of leaned, so I managed to get it upright. However, when I moved it, I noticed this piece of rubber on the ground where the bike had leaned. It was warm so obviously it came off the bike.

I have no idea where it is from. I suppose it is a spacer of some sort.

I think it's a £1 coin. Don't know what the black object next to it is though.

You're 100% sure it's from your bike and it wasn't just lying there beforehand?

Saying that, the numbers on the rubber do look a like Suzuki part codes, the G in there being the thing that makes me think it is.

Number 4 here:
http://www.suzukipartshouse.com/oempart ... /fuel-tank

Number seems to match the last part of the part number. The first part is the model identifier, IIRC.

I thought it looked familiar, I have seen it on the Wee tank before when I took my bike apart.

It was not there as I normally look carefully before going round the ballard. When I picked it up it was warm, quite warm and this was at about 7 in the morning. If it was lying there before it would have been cold.

I did check it on the internet and saw it was a Suzuki part but could not make it out but it seems you and ONJ are right. Cheers, will have to put it back but it is a bit worrying if it comes off this easy once the bike has gone onto its side.

The other two should definitely try their luck at Edingburgh festival or even Britains got talent  :thumb:
