Accessories from Italy, Spain and eBay
« on: August 30, 2014, 09:42:11 »
No bike yet but I have just placed the order for some accessories from Italy, straight from the seller, using PayPal:
- Rear Hugger
- Givi Airflow
- Givi Crashbars
- Side stand Givi Foot

Total spent (with postage) €375

Then from eBay:
- Grip Puppies
- Handlebars Risers 25mm
- Mirrors

Total spent (with postage) €79

And then from Spain:
- Arrow Exhaust 71816AKN
Total spent (with postage) €357

Still bellow my €1000 limit for accessories. Monday, 1st of September, my local Suzuki dealer reopens after vacations. Will go to see if he wants to negotiate the Vee2 sitting there new since April. I wanted to wait for the end of the year to get better deal but just can't help it. Of course, all that if bike has not been sold in last few weeks. Out of the door price (all included) is €12.600 which I think too high for the bike sitting there that long, without any selling perspective. Seems that nobody wants the red one. That dealer sold quit a few of new Vee's, other colors, but not the one from showroom floor.
I will negotiate and see what value he gives for my 2012 Glee.

If you look at review Blade posted it suggests Suzuki will be selling early Demo models off at a realistic price. Trying to discount from £12600 is going to feel like the never ending story.like your list,no centre stand though is that deliberate?

Yes... I have paddock stand and will tranfer the spools from my Glee. As I have garage I do my chain maintenance at home and have never felt the need for center stand. And I'm trying to keep the weight down. Crash bars are already aditional weight but they saved my Glee few days ago when I let it go down when standing still at the traffic light (don't ask)...
And, by the way, the price I mentioned above is euros, so it would be arround £9.971.

Just added side 1000 Decals Set from germany (Part #: 990D0-31J07-PAD), for €45 delivered.
And by the way, the bike I'm talking about has no licence plates and it has zero miles.

Got it all covered then, keep posting how you get on,will be interesting to see how they balance the trade in price with a new Veek. It's funny I would only choose red and there it is sitting like an ugly duckling!

Yes, I have no problem with red one. My Glee is white, got it 2nd hand. All in all, I have no problem with any color. I use the bike for the enjoyment of ride, not to show-off. If it was for show-off I'd never get new Vee as I find that "nose" ugly and skinny. But for what metters, lightning is good, as reviewed by someone here on the forum and that's all I need to know.
I also have pair of Cree Led Lights ready to install on my Glee so If I close the deal next week, they'll go straight to Vee2.
The only thing still to solve is skid plate but I won't rush with that one until few more brands launch theirs for Vee2.
Top case (Givi) is going to be transfered from my Glee.
I guess all depends on trade-in value for my Glee.
I hope for the best.
Thanks for your support.

Bosnjo -  the Givi adaptor plate is quite expensive (around 95ukp I think. It's a small job to fit it as you have to install a cross brace and then side braces which sit at 45 degrees and bolt to the adaptor plate.  It's a bit fiddly but not a big job.

Oh, don't tell me I won't be able to mount my top case without adaptor plate  :bawl:

EDIT: Just looked at Givi site and it says that plate my topcase includes (topcase GIVI Monolock E370NT) is universal mount. It's listed at accessories for new Vee and it doesn't mention any additional plate.

You might get away with the universal mount.  The one I ordered looked as though it needed to be modified and some longer bolts.  Out of mostly laziness I couldn't face it and ordered the model-specific plate!

OK, then I'll try first with existing plate. I don't fear modifications. I even like them, they're lot of fun. I'm at vacations till the end of September, so if I get the bike in next couple of weeks it will be a lot of fun to spend some time in my garage installing and modifying things.

Just closed the deal. It was a lot of arguing :violence-smack: , me leaving, he calling me back... Took more then an hour but deal is closed:

- My Glee, white, Jun 2012, 16.000 kms (10.000 miles) traded in with Suzuki Crash Bars, Puig Screen (I don't have OEM one, kept my Givi AIrflow), and Puig plastic skid plate.
- His Vee2, red, 0 kms, he will include Suzuki Skid Plate, tank top pad protector and first service plus TBS on first service if requested by me.

I paid €7.200 (£5.690)

What do you think about the deal?

Well, the price tag on that Vee2 was €12.900 (£10.200). Taking that in account, he valued my Glee €5.700 (£4.500) which is not bad because I paid for it 2nd hand €6.800 (£5.370), 11 months and 6.000 miles ago at other Suzuki dealer.

Chances are he'll get the Glee sold easier than that Veek, at least by the sound of it :)

Yes, he was honest and said that Glee wouldn't sit there for more then a week as he has a lot of people asking if he had 2nd hand Glee and he keeps few phone numbers of those who were waiting for one.

The one I used is in Italy:
http://www.motostorm.it/en/
The best way of payment is PayPal. The shop has excellent reviews all over the world. If they have your items in stock, it should take less then one week from payment to your door. If not, it can take 2-3 weeks.
I paid for Givi Airflow €103,50 and Rear Hugger €78,00. Postage to Portugal was €13,00. To Denmark is €13,00 as well.
Note that all prices are in Euros, not Brittish Pounds.
I made payments at 1st of September and yesterday I received email saying that my items were just collected from supplier and were going to be sent the same day. So, they were not in stock at the shop.

I've just bought alpinestars Andes gear from motostorm in Italy, ££ cheaper than UK. (Can't remember, about £60 overall I think) They are reported as despatched next day (I ordered Sunday night) and en route to me with a week's delivery time. Tracking via fed ex. Will report if any problems.

I UK companies can't compete or catch up they will lose out. That said I bought boots at JS accessories as they had them and I wanted them straight away, even though I paid about £15 more than I could have done online from UK.

Motostorm has just sent me an email stating that they have everything I've ordered except Givi Airflow. Their supplier delayed it for few more days. So, it will be at least one more week, I guess.

All items arrived and installed. Here are some photos. I'm just not sure about side stand foot. Looks too big and it is heavy. I hope it won't give me troubles because of its weight:
