I had a similar object in mine, I had it plugged. No issues in the following 4600 miles which included 3 dyno sessions and 2 trackdays.
But I'm from Yorkshire tha sees.

That should be repairable I'd say. It's right on the tread and central, though I've had them done between without problems.

Yes it can be repaired. There's plenty plug kits on the market but most on here like these

I've'e done most of my own punctures over the years without problems.
Or get it done at your local bike shop.

Unscrew it and don't pull it out maybe obvious but just in case.I've had ones with little heads and massive threads that act like a bloomin file and make a mahoosiv hole instead of one that will close up nicely

Thanks lads.
I have a plugging kit, I bought a few years ago. I take it with me when I go to Europe.
In a funny sort of way I have been itching to use it.

Used a few different plugging kits over the years and had good results with all of them. For a very small hole I use these

My rear tyre has been repaired with the above earlier this year and I also repaired a puncture in one of my van tyres last year with the same kit.
Also carry one of these and always had good results

Have a look on youtube, plenty of demo's..

Get it off and have it plugged properly, with a mushroom and vulcanising solution. Talk nicely to your local tyre fitter, tell him it's for track use only if he has any reservations.
