Thinking of selling
« on: August 07, 2014, 18:43:19 »
So, I'm thinking of selling my DL650. I recently hurt my shoulder quite badly during weight lifting (of all things) and it's not been right for over 4 months now, resulting in barely being able to ride the bike comfortably for more than 30 miles, have had to cancel eurotrip (which was very saddening). in the mean time I've also been learning to drive with my test booked for September (I seem to be steamrolling through the driving, I would have had a test sooner but they're backlogged, it seems a lot of what I learnt on the bike transfers).

My main point of enquiry would be - is it worth stripping the bike down back to stock, selling them parts separately then selling the bike as standard. Insofar the extras I have are:

Givi airflow windscreen
Heated grips (But I can't be bothered taking these off, nor do I have the originals)
Fuse box (can't be bothered removing this either)
Givi panniers + pannier rack
Givi top box + top box rack
Standard pannier rack (I had to get this to fit on givi top box rack), as my bike came with the K7X one
Foot peg lowering kit
Handlebar 1" raising kit

Obviously it'd be easier just selling everything in one lump but my suspicion is that it would sell for less overall and money is tight at the moment,

suggestions are welcome,
Seigi.

I would take all the bits of and sell separate , you won't make all that much extra selling the bike with it all on

It's almost always better to remove the bits and sell them separately.

As above, but some of them won't get you much money (such as the Fuse Box for sure and maybe the footpeg kit) and won't be worth it.

Depends if you're selling to a dealership or private. If a dealership take everything off as it adds nothing to what they'll give you. If selling privately you may get a slightly higher price or a quicker sale if you sell with all on.
