my DL650 a month on...
« on: August 06, 2014, 21:18:13 »
I work for a used motorcycle dealer in the Sales department. I've ridden a lot of bikes but when it came to buying my own it took a while. But when I spotted the DL650 (I wanted 1000 but they stopped making them in 2009 :-() come into our dealership and it went on sale all boxed up and looking lovely. I left it a few days but after a long demo I opted for this little work horse - and I'm glad I did. So far the DL so far has been BRILLIANT. I think it is largely down to expectations. It's more than fulfilled the role of all weather commuter and added a little fun in there too. My recent GPR Carbon can has made a world of difference to the enjoyment factor. In the short while I have had it over 1000 miles have been covered more than a lot of people I sell a bike to do. A well recommend machine that's for sure. :)))

Yes, I was only in the Peak District a couple of weeks ago, just riding back roads I don't know because I've always just ridden past them at speed. There are a whole network of interesting, technical and stunning single track roads up there, it's like discovering an entirely new national park.

And there are many "Not suitable for HGV" and "Not suitable for motor vehicles" road signs that translate to "Turn off here now!" for those of us that know better
