Good luck Stan.
Just remember what you want this bike for. If the majority of your riding is going to be your local commute to and from school then assess the bike you need to do that against the roads you use and the realistic speeds you think you will be able to achieve. My Glee covers my daily trip to work and is light enough and flexible to deal with any filtering I need for this. I have also managed a trip to Belgium and France and although not 2 up, it coped really well with my luggage and did not let me down with the other big bikes with me at the time.
I was in a dealership last week getting the Glee serviced and again had a good look around the 1000's in stock and as nice as they are I couldn't justify why I would need one.
On the other hand they had a DR-Z in and that has got my thinking
Good luck with the ride out.
