Custard TLC

Is that a bolt kit or just a load of bolts bought at the right size?

I'd like to replace all the ones I take off the Glee in the coming years as I remove and replace them under normal maintenance.

It's just bolts of the right size, I tend to buy at least 10 at a time of any given size.  :)

I still need to clean off the gasket faces. Just as well its forecast sunny tonight (bike work carried out in driveway).

I'm just back after some grueling night shifts in London  :bawl:

I'm waiting for my lovely assistant to get back tomorrow (Daughter not Diver)  :) and then I'm determined to get Custard back together.

Because I couldn't help but get my hands dirty this evening I did the worthwhile tasks of fitting some new Plugs.

I am the tiredest bloke in the world. I drove to London yesterday afternoon, worked until 4am then drove home again.

Somehow I found the energy to crack on with the reassembly. I did okay, got everything back on, Oil and Coolant in and I started her  :)

Unfortunately I have an oil leak, some knob (me) hasn't put one of the Rocker covers on properly  :violence-smack:

Tank off in the morning and hopefully all will be well.

After re-seating the Rocker Cover I still had a slight oil leak, on closer examination it was making its way past the threads on one of the bolts

I have ordered a Helicoil kit but won't have time to make the repair until next week  ###

For anyone interested, the Rocker bolts are M7.

wOw, you're doing a fantastic job on that custard DL thou, makes great reading, well done yourself, dedication alright. Have you thought about changing both front headlamp bulbs to the likes of Osram brighter/whiter bulbs.....?

And whilst your at it, you could order a two tooth more rear sprocket (Renthal) for more oomph, it does make a better improved/difference, trust me, mines been replaced for nearly a year now and wouldn't go back to the standard sprocket...........ever.

Have fun.

That Halfords Silver Wheel paint isn't a perfect match but I think it looks okay..

Because the Tank has to come off to repair the thread in the head this is as far as I can go until next week  :GRR:

Rear plastics, Sump Cover and Rear Carrier back on.

Mr. Rat, those cam cover bolts all appear to be missing a rubber gasket, that's probably why it's leaking.

ps. I was hoping for another glimpse of your more attractive helper :GRR:

The washers are there Juv, I had wound the bolts back in so I didn't lose them.
