Popped over to Sunny Scunthorpe on Wednesday for one of Mark's Gear change enhancer's. What a top Bloke, to say he is running a full time business as well. The communication prior to going over was second to none (think that's Shelley's department) and Mark even fitted it for me. Although there was more blood than sweat I might add so apologies for the gash on the head mark. The enhancer/spacer worked perfectly and was noticeable straihght away even in the car park. Ordered the top box adapter plate as well while I was there. Top service by Mark and Shelley, highly recommended.

Very kind comments and fab feedback - thanks so much. So pleased you are happy with it. Mark's 'war wound' is healing nicely - he fly's around like a loon most the time so it was bound to happen...I keep telling him to slow down but I don't think he knows how - even when it comes to drinking wine he thinks he's in a competition (even when he's drinking on his own) <!-- s:

Ian, the theory is that the alignment is a few millimeters out at the back end, this corrects that and makes the chain true (aligns the sprockets) so the gear change is smoother.

First thing I ordered for the bike. Noticed the difference as soon as it was fitted and it's been on now for many a year. It seems to make the rear sprocket line up perfectly with the front one and you get a smooth transition of the chain.

Thanks for that FR,I did suspect that was what the theory was.Just cannot believe that Suzuki would make a basic engineering cockup like that.So theoretically should it make chains and sprockets last longer.When I have the wheels out for tyres next time I might have a go at running a laser along the rear sprocket and see how the front lines up.If anyone has one of these prior to fitting it would be nice to know how thick the shim is,looks about 2mm at a guess.As an afterthought does it make the transmission any quieter,??

According to this topic. sprocket spacer you've made pushing sprocket 2mm in wrong direction. I'm thinking about return, still havent fitted

According to a rival supplier you mean. There are far more positive reviews from real users in the UK. Cymarc makes quality gear using ridiculously over specified machinery. Perhaps do a bit more research before you panic?

I happen to know Mark had a donor DL1000 in when he made this, the owner was delighted with the immediate improvement.

I don't really know who I should believe, because I read few topics in 4 different forums and they claim the same thing, that sprocket should be 2mm in not out...

Not wanting to hijack this as I have no idea about the part mentioned but I would be more than willing to provide a character reference for Mark at Cymarc and as my bike was used to develop the new range of Africa Twin parts, I am well placed to give a 5 star rating on the quality of the products he makes. My bike currently has 4 of his products fitted and they are all excellent. His site and Facebook page are also full of positive customer feedback too.

Undoubtedly Cymarc gear is very well made. I've got some of their kit on my bike. Also, mine's a 650 so the alignment issue doesn't apply to my model.
But... as a mechanical engineering technician in my previous life, I find myself fascinated as to how one apparent problem can look to have two seemingly opposed solutions, and users of both are happy with the results of their modifications.
