There's 8 pages in this month and going to cover the trip in 5 issues. It will be interesting to see if it does OK

Only joking, screen was an issue for me on my road-test though

Been lots said about the screen and there was one member who had a possible issue with fueling when slowing down. The screen all depends in my opinion on helmet, riders height whether they have a pillion etc.
The fueling issue it was suggested that the bike is better when traction control is set at setting one instead of two. Now I struggle to get my mind around this but I have tried it and it does seem smoother or do I imagine it?

Bike is going in next week for its 7.500 mile service a little early by about 1,000 miles but I have two trips planned soon one possibly 2,000 miles and the other nearer 3,000 miles.

So I continue to enjoy my bike. Ride safe all.

I've never ridden a bike with Traction Control, so I've just left mine in TC 1 setting (don't know what else to do). :shy:  If the road conditions get slippery, I'll adjust my riding like I always have done.

I don't have a problem with the screen either, but then, I never had a problem with the screen on any of my bikes once it was set in the right position.

I subscribe to Motorcycle Sport And Leisure Mag, who have a 1000 on long term test, but it looks like I'll have to get the next 5 months Bike mags as well.

Having demo'd the bike the other week I thought the ride etc were great, (engine, gearbox, suspension, brakes and even the screen). I couldn't justify trading my Glee for it though and I'm not a fan of the styling so would rather buy something else anyway. Then again, if we all liked the same style there'd only be one type of bike.

Let's hope it gets a fair write up instead of the usual "it's not a sublime GS [or any other BMW] so it's crap" review

Just found this link. It shows how far they have got so far with the new DL1000 riding back to the factory.

It's now in Asia as it's been through Atyrau, where the river Ural flows (but not in winter) into the Caspian sea. When there with work and walked from Europe into Asia, ie across the bridge over the river  :) And the Caspian sea is about 25 metres below what is classified as "sea level"

I spotted a new DL1000 in the flesh last Friday at Knockhill race circuit,  hmmm what's with that twin throttle thing down by the exhaust ????

Strange place to put it and it looks quite exposed to the elements I thought....!

Exhaust tuning, and it's in about the same location as the one fitted to the latest R1200GS.

Here's a picture of the bike going to Japan.

Even Mr Diver cannot get that dirty.

They seem to have added a skull to it and we all know a beak grows out of a skull.

No problems with the bike.

The tank range gets a few mentions, but then anything with less than a 300 miles one would be similar I think.
